Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring both your password and a temporary code.

Dunning Bear uses Time-Based One-Time Passwords (TOTP) for 2FA. A new six-digit code is generated every 30 seconds for verification. Popular authenticator apps include Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, and LastPass Authenticator.

Setup

  • Open your profile settings and enable 2FA
  • Scan the provided QR code with your authenticator app. If you can’t scan the code, manually enter the key instead
  • Enter the generated six-digit code on the setup page to confirm

Once configured, you’ll need to enter a new code each time you log in.

Backup code

After setting up 2FA, you’ll receive a backup code — store it securely. If you ever lose access to your authenticator app, use this backup code to restore account access.
